Puthukudumbam Project: Housing Project

Puthukudumbam Project: Housing Project

St. Joseph Province is after a project, “Pudukudumbam Project”, to provide permanent residences to the victim families of the flood. Our priests in India and abroad assured their whole-hearted support for the project to find the benefactors.

1. St. Joseph’s Province of the Vincentian Congregation, specifically its charitable arm, Vincentian Social Service Society, is in the effort to find small pieces of lands wherever it is possible to construct homes for the displaced.

 2. We may buy the pieces of lands identified or receive them as donation.

 3. Our plan is to construct 650 sq ft houses with 2 bed rooms, 1 dining space, kitchen, toilet cum bath area. Construction cost of such a house is Rs 800,000.00 (eight hundred thousand Indian rupees).

 4. Our congregation will adopt these families giving them pastoral care, education to their children and finding job opportunities for the displaced.

5. Our province is planning to adopt a flood-stricken parish and to help, to rebuild it again.
