A Historic Public Witness: Dharan Sees First Combined Marian and Eucharistic Procession
In a landmark event for the Catholic community in Nepal, the parishioners of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Dharan, made history by organizing the city's first-ever procession that combined veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary with adoration of the Holy Eucharist. This public celebration, held during the nation's festive Nepali month of Kartik, offered a powerful testimony of faith and a profound opportunity for spiritual growth.
The evening began with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 5:00 PM, presided over by Fr. Eugine SDB. Following the Mass, a period of deep, contemplative adoration commenced as Fr. Nirmal VC exposed the Blessed Sacrament. He was joined by fellow priests Fr. Eugine SDB, Fr. Cyril VC. Fr. Jisuraj SDB, Fr. Abi OFM conv., and Fr. Johny SDB in leading the faithful in prayer.
The highlight was the graceful procession through Dharan, a unique spiritual journey uniting the Rosary and the Eucharist. In a beautiful moment of harmony, the Solemn Rosary was led by Savitri Acharya. This public witness, a first for the parish, served as a moving testament to shared devotion. The event concluded with a final blessing from Fr. Nirmal VC, sending the faithful forth spiritually renewed. The parish extends heartfelt thanks to all who contributed, especially Fr. Cyril VC, Arnold D’Souza, Isha, Sr. Jyoti, Sr. Margret, Benjamin, and Robert, for their dedicated service in making this historic day of spiritual enrichment a reality.
