A Milestone of Grace: Celebrating 350th Tamil Popular Mission Retreats

 

Since the first Tamil retreat led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Ayyamcolil VC in August 2005, the Lord has blessed us with 350 retreats across all dioceses of Tamil Nadu and in the Tamil parishes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Delhi—bringing profound spiritual renewal to countless faithful.

A special moment of grace was the 350th Popular Mission Retreat, celebrated on November 16th at the Church of Our Lady of Good Health, Udayapatti, in the Diocese of Salem. The inauguration was marked by a solemn Eucharistic Celebration led by Rt. Rev. Singaroyan, Bishop Emeritus, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Jomon Kaippadakunnel, Rev. Fr. George Poonattu, Rev. Fr. Cherian Kuttikkattu, and sixteen of our priests. This milestone stands as a powerful testimony to our congregation’s commitment to evangelization.

At the outset of this meeting, we gratefully remember all former Directors and our Associate Directors, Rev. Frs. Lijo Thakarappillil and Antony Rajan, of the Popular Mission Retreats, whose dedication and service have paved the way for this fruitful and grace-filled ministry.
