ABLAZE III - Youth Retreat Ignites Young Hearts at Vincentian Prayer Centre Dharan, Nepal

The Vincentian Prayer Centre in Dharan came alive with the vibrant faith and enthusiasm of young people during ABLAZE – III, three-day youth retreat held from October 19–22. Centred on spiritual growth and renewal, the retreat gathered youth from various parishes for a deep encounter with God through prayer, worship, and fellowship in the Holy Spirit.

The retreat began under the guidance of Fr. Nirmal Kummamkttil VC, Director of the Vincentian Prayer Centre, who led the participants in Eucharistic Adoration and blessings, inviting them to a renewed experience of God’s presence. The morning opened with uplifting praise led by Br. Dhano Soren and Br. Sebastian, filling the centre with joyful songs and prayerful hearts.

Fr. Arun Francis Tamang led the first day’s sessions on “Praise and Worship in the Holy Spirit,” encouraging the youth to embrace the gifts of the Spirit, including the gift of tongues. Fr. Ignatius Rai, Dean of Purvanchal, celebrated the Holy Mass, and the evening was devoted to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, giving participants the opportunity for deep spiritual renewal. The second day continued with Divine Mercy prayers and sessions on building relationships with God and others. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Eugine Kujur SDB, Rector of Don Bosco, and Fr. Jisuraj SDB. The evening included a beautiful teaching on Mother Mary and concluded with a Jericho procession, symbolizing faith’s triumph through persistent prayer.

On the final day, Br. Sebastian shared on the beauty and universality of the Catholic Church, followed by Fr. Arun’s talk on Church history and the role of Gen Z in the synodal Church. The retreat culminated with a powerful Anointing Adoration, where many youths experienced healing and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. A solemn Thanksgiving Mass, celebrated by Fr. Arun Francis Tamang, brought the retreat to a close. Fr. Nirmal Kummamkottil  VC and youth leader Rebecca Urau expressed heartfelt gratitude to all clergy, religious, volunteers, and participants. Prizes were awarded to young people who showed dedication in writing and reflecting on the Word of God throughout the retreat.

The ABLAZE III Youth Retreat stands as a milestone of grace, rekindling faith in young hearts and inspiring them to live courageously as witnesses of Christ in today’s world.
