Charitable Outreach Brings Relief to Vulnerable Families by Vincentian Ashram Social Service Society, Dharan, Nepal
The Vincentian Ashram Social Service Society conducted a charitable outreach initiative to support 11 families living in conditions of extreme poverty, old age, and illness. The outreach team visited each household and distributed essential food supplies, including rice, dal, sugar, oil, puffed rice, and other daily necessities.
The visits revealed deeply challenging living conditions among the beneficiaries. Ashrita Periyar, a cancer patient and double amputee, supports her family through begging. Tara Jogi, who has lost her eyesight, is cared for by her elderly husband. Assistance was also extended to single parents Bhaje and Dil Prasad Kai, as well as Kamal Dorgi, an ailing elderly woman abandoned by her husband.
Further support was provided to Dil Kumari Rai, who is paralyzed and unable to continue her handicraft work, and Ruben Rai, a stroke survivor living with his wife and child. The organizers described the initiative as a meaningful act of compassion, offering dignity and temporary relief to those in need.
