Children’s Retreat ‘Kodesh Yaldim III’ Concludes at Vincentian Evangelical Centre, Dharan

The Vincentian Evangelical Centre, Dharan, successfully organized its third children’s retreat, Kodesh Yaldim III (Holy Children), bringing together young participants from various parishes for a spiritually enriching three-day experience.

The retreat began on Monday with the Holy Rosary before the exposed Blessed Sacrament, led by Fr. Nirmal Kummamkottil VC. During the time of prayer, Fr. Antony Mangalath VC and Fr. Nirmal also blessed the halls, dormitory, and church premises. The formal inauguration followed, marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Fr. Nirmal Kummamkottil VC, Director of the Vincentian Evangelical Centre – Nepal, Fr. Antony Mangalath VC, Administrator of the Centre, Br. Dhano Soren, a charismatic preacher from Sircia, and Sr. Neena FC jointly inaugurated the retreat. Fr. Nirmal then addressed the participants with an introductory session and guidelines for the days ahead. Br. Dhano Soren  delivered an inspiring talk on the Word of God, emphasizing its importance in daily life.

The second day began early with morning prayers and the Rosary at 6:00 AM, followed by Eucharistic adoration. Fr. Antony led the blessing of the facilities, while Fr. Nirmal conducted sessions on the Sacraments and their significance in Catholic life. After breakfast, the children participated in lively action songs led by Fr. Antony, and Br. Dhano offered a session on experiencing the presence of God in the Holy Mass. Fr. Nirmal also spoke on the importance of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In the afternoon, the children were divided into seven groups for games and activities organized by Fr. Antony. The evening featured prayer at 5:00 PM, followed by the Jericho Rosary with adoration, including a prayerful procession to the Marian grotto and back to the church. Br. Dhano concluded the day with a powerful talk on the Holy Name of Jesus. Supper followed.

On the final day, the children gathered for the Rosary at 6:00 AM, followed by the Holy Mass at 6:30 AM. Gifts were distributed to the participants, and the retreat concluded with Eucharistic adoration, healing prayers, and anointing.

The children departed with joy and renewed spiritual enthusiasm, marking the retreat as a grace-filled and memorable experience for all involved.
