KODESH YALDIM II AT VINCENTIAN PRAYER CENTER, DHARAN

The citizens of Nepal are welcoming the New Year 2081 with a few days, according to the Vikrami calendar, called Vikram Samvat, the official calendar of Nepal. The year count of the Vikram Samvat calendar is usually 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar.

On this special occasion of the new year and academic reopening, the Vincentian Prayer House, Dharan, hosted the Kodesh Yaldim II (Second Children’s Retreat) from April 6 to 8. There were 130 children from various parishes of East Nepal. The retreat began with a welcoming message from Fr. Nirmal Kummamkottil VC. Then we had a session by Sr. Shanti FC, animating the children with action songs and bible quizzes. We had the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Nirmal VC, and he gave a talk on the importance of faith in life.

On the Second day of the Retreat, Fr. Lijo Panthackal VC gave the session on the power of God in life. The Sisters animated the sessions with action songs and catechism classes. Fr. Joseph celebrated the Holy Eucharist, mentioning the importance prayer in life. In the afternoon, under the leadership of Fr. Nirmal and the Sisters, games were conducted. It helped the children to know each other and have the joy of being together. On the final day, Fr. Lijo led the final session and the anointing adoration. Many children received the healing touch of the Holy Spirit. We had Fr. Arun Pradhan SJ, who concluded the retreat with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Thanking Fr. Lijo Panthackal VC, who animated the retreat and all fathers and sisters, Chrysantha mentioned that the days were like joyful drizzle that wasted their lives and souls and gave them joy in Christ.
