Mission Gathering of the Mother Teresa Mission

The 2024 Mission Gathering of the Mother Teresa Mission was held in Calcutta at Nitika, Don Bosco. The event took place in the presence of Fr. Vincent Nellinilkumthadathil VC, Assistant Provincial, Fr. Jomon Kaippadakunnel VC, Provincial Councillor and Innocent Puthentharayil VC, Provincial Councillor and Fr. George Arackal Jr, Mission Superior of the Mother Teresa Mission. Fifteen members from the Mother Teresa Mission, representing West Bengal, Tripura, and Nepal, attended the gathering.

The Mission Gathering began with an opening prayer led by Fr. George Arackal Jr. He began by sharing insights on the Constitution, particularly regarding the mission's structure and the roles and responsibilities of the Mission Superior and members. The date for the next Mission Gathering was confirmed as January 13-14, 2026. Rev. Fr. Ebin Panicker OIC, a resource person, provided an insightful presentation on the challenges faced by missions in India. He emphasized the personal call each member must feel to respond to the mission entrusted to them.Fr. George Arackal, the Mission Superior, also shared his personal experiences and challenges in overseeing the Mission, particularly in West Bengal and Nepal. His reflections were followed by the sharing of each member about the work being done in their respective houses.

Fr. Jomon Kaippadakunnel, Provincial Councillor, delivered the final message, offering guidance and encouragement to the members. The session ended with Eucharistic Adoration led by Fr. George Arackal and Eucharist Mass celebrated by Fr. Jomon Kaippadakunnel. The day concluded with a communal dinner. The evening ended with a relaxing picnic at Sundarbans, providing a joyful and informal conclusion to Day One of the gathering.
