Munpepoyavar – Day of Remembrance for Deceased Members

 

The Munpepoyavar—the day set apart to remember the deceased members of our province and their family members—was observed on November 27, 2025. Around 100 beloved family members of our priests participated in the gathering.

The day began with a solemn Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m., offered in memory of the departed. Rev. Fr. Thomas Cheruvil was the main celebrant. In his homily, he prayerfully recalled the departed members and highlighted the love and gratitude of their families who gathered to honour their memory. Rev. Fr. John Puthumana and Rev. Fr. Jojo Assariparambil were the concelebrants.

Following the Holy Mass, all proceeded to the cemetery for the Office of the Dead, praying for the souls of the faithful departed. The gathering concluded with a fraternal lunch, after which everyone dispersed. The day served as a gentle reminder of our enduring spiritual bond with those who have gone before us, keeping their memory alive in prayer and fellowship.
