New Initiative “Sona Lipi” Launched to Combat Child Labor and Dropouts.
Under the guidance of the Vincentian House, Chopra, a new educational initiative, Sona Lipi (meaning "Golden Letters" in Bengali), has been launched in the village of Chowdarigach, Chopra. This project aims to reduce school dropouts and curb child labor by providing academic support to underprivileged children.
As part of this initiative, a tuition center has been established, where 63 students from Nursery to Class 8 are currently receiving educational assistance. Two dedicated teachers have been appointed to guide and mentor these young learners.
The initiative has been made possible with the support and guidance of Fr. Tony Plavunilkunnathil, along with the generous funding and encouragement from Fr. Dominic Kadamkavil and the Vincentian community. Their commitment to uplifting the children of Chowdarigach is a step toward a brighter future for the village.
With Sona Lipi, the Vincentian House hopes to empower children through education and create lasting change in the community.
