NEW PRIESTS' Reception @ VINCENTIAN MINOR SEMINARY, PALA

NEW PRIESTS' Reception @ VINCENTIAN MINOR SEMINARY, PALA

St. Joseph Province joyfully celebrated New Priests' Day at the Vincentian Minor Seminary, Pala, on Saturday, August 2nd at 6:30 AM, to welcome and honour the newly ordained priests of the province.

The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass, with Fr. Deuben Vincent Xavier Azavedo as the main celebrant. During the homily, Fr. Benjamin Gitau reflected powerfully on the Gospel passage concerning Herod, highlighting the role of John the Baptist as a "holy disturbance" — one who shakes the conscience of others to make space for Jesus and bring light to their minds.

The newly ordained priests — Fr. Deuben Vincent Xavier Azavedo, Fr. Benjamin Gitau, Fr. Joseph Macharia, and Fr. Newton Wafula — were warmly welcomed to the community. Fr. Ullas Vattamthottiyil extended the official welcome and introduced each of the new priests to the assembled gathering.

As a gesture of love and appreciation, the community presented bouquets and gifts to the newly ordained priests. The celebration also featured cultural programmes by the seminarians, adding joy and festivity to the occasion.

The gathering extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the new priests as they begin their sacred ministry. May their priesthood bear abundant fruit in the service of God and His people.
