“The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup…” (Ps16:5)

St. Joseph Province celebrated our beloved Silver and Golden Jubilarians with a heartfelt reception at Vincentian Minor Seminary, Pala, on the evening of September 21st. We warmly welcomed the jubilarians, along with their family members and well-wishers, to our seminary, which had been lovingly decorated by our seminarians in preparation for the joyous occasion. Fr. Thomas Cheruvil, the Rector, warmly greeted everyone attending the jubilee celebrations before the Mass. Rev. Fr. Francis Puthenpura was the main celebrant for the solemn Mass, which was concelebrated by the jubilarians and other invited priests. Fr. Mekkattu George delivered a homily that captured everyone’s attention.

Following the Mass, a special felicitation ceremony was held, where Rev. Fr. Provincial Superior conveyed his warm congratulations to the jubilarians, acknowledging their years of dedicated service to the Church and the congregation. The celebration continued with a jubilant cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the shared joy of the occasion. Adding to the festivity, we also commemorated the feast day of Very. Rev. Fr. Provincial Superior, cutting another cake alongside the priests named Matthew, making the evening even more special.

The celebrations concluded with a delightful supper, serenaded by the melodious voices of our seminarians and the sisters from the neighbouring SABS community. The night was further enlivened by a heartwarming skit, performed by our seminarians under the direction of Fr. Dilwin Kureekkattil, which beautifully depicted the challenges and joys of the journey to priesthood.
