SOLEMN CONVOCATION OF BIBLE CERTIFICATE COURSE AT ARULALAYAM RETREAT CENTRE, AMBATTUR, CHENNAI

The Bible Certificate Course was begun at Ambattur Arulalayam Retreat Centre in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Bible Commission (TNBCLC), Tindivanam from September 2024 to May 2025. The Bible Course was inaugurated on 29th  September, 2024 by Rev. Fr. Jomon Kaippadakunnel VC, then councillor of retreats and popular missions of the St Joseph Province, in the presence of Rev. Dr. Stanislas, the secretary of Tamil Nadu Bible Commission. The classes were conducted on alternative Saturdays of every month. Various professors from different parts of Tamil Nadu and Pune took the classes. Initially there were 65 students, but only 45 students could regularly attend and complete the course.               

On 16th May 2025, the certificates were issued at Tindivanam by His Excellency Stephen, the Chairperson of Bible Commission (TNBCLC) and the Bishop of Thoothukudi. In which around 20 students received their certificates. There was a solemn convocation day conducted at Ambattur Arulalayam on 24th May 2025. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. William John Bosco VC and Word of God shared by Rev.Fr. Regan Manuel Raj. Rev. Dr. Ubaldas Sundar, the professor and the administrator of Sacred Heart Seminary, Ponthamallee, Chennai was the chief guest for the gathering and distributed the certificates in the presence of Rev. Fr. Thomas Mankuthel VC, the Superior, Vincentian Ashram, Fr. William John Bosco VC, the Director and Rev. Fr. Jilbin Kaniyammattel VC, the Assistant Director. The gathering was followed by an agape.
