Vincentian Minor Seminary, Pala : Parents’ Day and the Birthday Celebration of Rev. Fr. Xavier Kalapurackal VC

“The family is the first seminary where God’s call is whispered to the soul.”

It was indeed a grateful and joyful day for the seminary as we conducted the Parents’ Meeting of the seminarians on 16th November 2025. All the parents arrived by 9:30 a.m., and their presence made the day truly successful. Along with the parents, the presence of siblings, grandparents, and relatives added extra colour and warmth to the celebration.

Rev. Fr. Thomas Thekkemury VC, the resource person of the day, spoke about the importance of parents in the life of their children, especially in the case of seminarians. A vocation begins in the heart of God, but it grows in the warmth of a family. Fr. Thomas also explained the changes that take place in the lives of seminarians. The awareness of being called to the seminary brings many positive transformations, helping them become role models in society. He also gratefully acknowledged and appreciated the great sacrifices made by every parent who supports their child in responding to God’s call.

After the session, Rev. Fr. Ullas Vattamthottiyil VC, the Rector, celebrated the Holy Mass. Following the Holy Mass, there was a cultural programme presented by the seminarians, which was a true gift for their parents. The programme included songs, dance, mime, and a video presentation highlighting the life of the seminarians.
